Assessment
Assessment strategy
The formative assessment will comprise two parts; 1.Feedback on your online contributions. The feedback and feedforward will be compiled by your online tutors and the module lead based on your online participation and engagement at the mid-point of the module 2. Examples of the MCQ will be provided within the Assessment Office of the VLE. The summative approach to assessment is designed to enable you to demonstrate your depth and breadth of neonatal pulmonology knowledge as well as your ability to demonstrate your ability to use higher cognitive skills. It includes the following: 1. An unseen online MCQ-applied knowledge assessment examination. The aim will be to assess the depth and breadth of knowledge as well as your clinical judgement. This contributes 70% of your final mark. 2. Evaluation of online participation within your learning group discussions. To enable your participation to be evaluated, you are required to make a minimum of two substantive contributions to each clinical discussion during the module. A substantive contribution is one that demonstrates meaningful engagement with the case discussion, for example through critical analysis, application of evidence, clinical reasoning, reflection, or constructive responses that advance discussion with peers. Meeting the minimum contribution requirement enables your participation to be assessed but does not, in itself, constitute a passing standard. Marks awarded for this assessment component will reflect the overall quality, depth, criticality, and consistency of your contributions against the assessment criteria. Marks awarded will contribute to 30% of your final mark. All assessment components must be attempted. To pass the module, you must achieve an overall module mark of 50% or above, and meet the minimum participation requirement for the online discussion assessmentSummative
