Current research
Dr. Vishnu works on high-enthalpy ground-testing facilities for hypersonic and re-entry research. At the University of Southampton he is designing and building the SHAR 47 system, a high-power, electrode-free ICP torch system, contracted by the UK Space Agency and developed with Cranfield Plasma Solutions, to reproduce re-entry thermal and flow conditions for thermal protection testing, demisability assessment, and re-entry emission characterisation.
