We focus on fostering innovative interdisciplinary ideas, developing robust transdisciplinary methods, enabling strategic research programmes, and shifting from isolated, siloed work toward integrated, innovative approaches to understanding the wider determinants of health.

About

The STEER Collaborative brings together University of Southampton researchers with partners working on different aspects of addressing population health inequalities and investigating the wider political, social, economic, environmental, and commercial determinants of health to:

  • Share and develop common research interests
  • Explore interdisciplinary innovative ideas
  • Develop fit for purpose transdisciplinary methods
  • Act as a springboard towards strategic transdisciplinary research programmes
  • Transform siloed approaches to health inequalities research into transdisciplinary innovative approaches
