ECON6083 2026-27
Experimental Economics
This module will introduce students to experimental methods in economics. Emphasis will be on the methodology, in particular, statistical techniques necessary for establishing causality and valid inference, non-parametric and other useful non-standard statistical tests for experimental data, formal analysis of how scientific knowledge accumulates, in particular with respect to replication and meta-analysis. -
SESA6070 2026-27
Experimental Methods for Aerodynamics
This module is aimed at students who will be performing aerodynamic or fluid mechanic experiments in their individual project, group design project and/or research project.
You will gain insights on the problems associated with design, setup and execution of experimental methods pertinent to aerodynamics/fluid mechanics. The most important and up-to-date measurement techniques will be presented. You will develop a practical knowledge and capability to perform measurements in dedicated facilities aimed at studying fundamental problems in aerodynamics/fluid mechanics. -

Experimental Practice & Research
This module builds on the level 5 Creative Industry module, addressing the current industrial context for creative computing and technology and preparation for future careers or further study. You will conduct further research into an area of creative work of your choice, addressing the economic, historical and cultural dimensions of, for example, web design, robotics, art galleries or marketing. You will also reflect on your own skills, interests and ambitions and develop industry-facing materials to showcase your work. This might include a website, showreel, CV and promotional materials relating to your other level 6 projects. -

Experimental Publishing
The consideration of what publishing actual means today remains a relevant question for any creative practitioner. Over the past few years we have seen a huge rise in self-publishing, print on-demand services, tweeting and social media, from post-digital to post broadcasting, and the act of making things public (publishing) has become a vibrant mix of old and new technologies. This module examines some of these technologies from a multidisciplinary perspective and allows students to explore these within the context of their own practice. The module will focus on three themes (1) Paper. The book as technology, (2) Pixel. Post digital publishing, (3) The network. Distribution and connecting.
Students write reflective blog posts throughout the module and write a final reflective summary at the end. -
