About
Dr Shibin Thomas is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of Southampton. He is a Researcher Co-Lead on the EPSRC-funded EXPRESS Programme Grant, where he leads electrodeposition research within the Energy and Electrochemistry Group.
His research focuses on the electrodeposition of functional materials, 2D materials, and layered nanostructures for nanoelectronic devices. He has worked on multiple EPSRC-funded projects and has developed electrodeposition strategies for the controlled growth of 2D transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) materials and heterostructures using molecular single source precursors.
Before joining Southampton, he completed his PhD in Physics at Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne, France, where his research focused on the electrodeposition of silicon and rare-earth metals from ionic liquids.
