About

I am a maritime archaeologist and postgraduate researcher in the Department of Archaeology. My research relates to developing semi-automated methods for the detection and analysis of shipwrecks in large marine geophysical datasets. This involves evaluating both traditional geospatial mapping techniques as well as machine learning methods for application to underwater cultural heritage documentation.

I'm also passionate about combining academic desk-based research with practical fieldwork. This has led to my involvement in various fieldwork projects across different terrestrial and maritime environments, including underwater and intertidal contexts. As a scientific and commerical diver, I have participated in diving projects in the UK and abroad, working on shipwrecks dating from the Roman period to the 18th century.
