About
The Centre for Neuromorphic Technologies (CeNT) aims to revolutionise computing by developing energy-efficient and brain-inspired hardware and algorithms that replicate how neurons and synapses process information, ultimately tackling the energy and scalability limits of today’s digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence systems.
We aim to develop novel hardware and unconventional AI algorithms to co-design next-generation neuromorphic systems by bringing together electrical and electronic engineers with computer science and a combined expertise in:
- computational modelling
- neurosymbolic AI
- photonics
- nanoelectronics
- materials science
- device physics
- biomedical engineering
Our research focus includes but is not limited to:
- creating low-power AI algorithms and bio-inspired devices for ultrafast parallel processing
- developing sustainable materials and device and systems architectures that support efficient, scalable information processing
Our multi-sector collaborations ensure the Centre’s innovations translate into real-world impacts for fields like AI acceleration, telecommunications, healthcare, defence, and sustainable computing.
