Biography
Victoria Greenacre is a Senior Research Fellow in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Southampton. Her research focuses on the synthesis and coordination chemistry of inorganic materials, including transition‑metal chalcogenides and macrocyclic metal complexes. She contributes to projects involving thin‑film deposition, electrochemical methods, thermoelectric materials and through DFT calculations to support experimental work in the lab.
Before joining Southampton, Victoria completed her PhD in Chemistry at the University of Sussex, where she carried out research on ambiphilic phosphorus‑based ligands and their coordination chemistry, building expertise in air‑sensitive inorganic synthesis and structural characterisation.
Victoria plays an active role in supporting the research group through student supervision, laboratory training and day‑to‑day facility management. She is involved in outreach and public engagement activities, regularly contributing to the Southampton Science and Engineering Festival. She is a Chartered Chemist and a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
