Biography

PhD
My PhD project investigates the impact of childhood maltreatment (including physical/emotional abuse and neglect) on emotional development in childhood. I am currently in my second year of study, and am always keen to learn more about upcoming research at conferences.

Undergraduate Community Tutor
I am the current Undergraduate Community Tutor (2022/2023). I work to ensure that all students feel as though they have a place in the School of Psychology. I run weekly coffee and catch up events with all years, create and teach lectures on how to cope with University life (including time management, stress, and physical/mental health), organise social events alongside the Psychology Society committee, and strive to create a thriving, positive and inclusive community.

I also run the Undergraduate Community Padlet to provide students with a place to share any events/fundraisers they may wish to advertise, and I share healthy, affordable and easy meal recipes once per week to help with the cost of living crisis.

Neuro-Kids
Neuro-Kids are an educational outreach group that teaches primary school-aged children about key psychological concepts, including how the brain works, the function of neurones, emotions, and more. I volunteer with Neuro-Kids to help facilitate tutorial sessions to teach Psychology in an age-appropriate way, and encourage children to learn more about Psychology!
